In 1973 Buckminster Fuller spoke before a standing room audience in the Mabel Shaw Bridges Hall of Music at Pomona College in Claremont, California. Among his remarks was the often repeated "storage battery" idea, that our global energy needs were being met temporarily by fossil fuels, and that we would soon be able to rely solely on renewable sources.
